My Engagement

My engagement story begins with my now fiancé informing me to pack up my things - we were going away somewhere for a week on a plane.  He would not tell me anything about this mystery trip.  To make a long story longer, the journey took me to this absolutely beautiful condo in the mountains of Canmore, Alberta. 

We got settled in and then the next morning Steve asked me if I'd like to hike up 'Ha Ling' mountain.  I agreed and once at the top, we settled ourselves on this ridge that had the most stunning view of Canmore below. 

Next, he proceeded to surprise me with a bottle of our favourite wine at the top of the mountain.  This wine astonished me as we had found this wine in Ireland (of all places!) when on vacation another time and had been trying to find it ever since but it was not available anywhere in Canada. It ends up, he had shipped it in for the occasion.  The name of this wine is fittingly called 'Lookout Ridge'.  It was a perfect moment and the most romantic of my life up to that point.  I didn't think it could get any better until he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him while presenting me with a sparkling ring.  I have never before in my life felt such incredible joy and I can't wait to see what our future holds!
