2010 Colour Trends
January 2010

The Main colour this Spring/Summer is White!

Oh no white! I can't wear it! ........ Oh But you can!  Some people believe that wearing white will make them look larger or make them look drawn and pale.  Wearing white is a good alternative and as slimming as black.  White looks great on tanned and dark skin, but for those that are of the lighter complexion I recommend that you wear an off-white or ivory and also add a little more colour to your make-up to minimizes paleness.

Helpful Tips on wearing white (or any colour that is in fashion).. Ladies this includes your wedding and evening wear.
  • mix them with shades that do suit you
  • wear a minimal amount of the colour
  • keep the colour away from your face
  • add a scarf or jewellery or accessory that adds colour close to your face

The type of fabric also has an effect.  Wearing a tailored stiff white blouse/shirt will look brighter.  A tee shirt or fabric that is softer and flowing will soften the look.

Shopping for clothes

Don’t worry about size on the tag!  If you normally are a size 10 but a 12 fits you more comfortable then BUY it!  It’s not the number that counts it’s the fit and comfort.
Remember all manufacturers run their sizes differently. Squeezing yourself into a garment without any breathing room will make you appear 10lbs heavier while opting for a larger size and cleverly concealing that spare tire will make you appear as though you've lost weight. This rule applies to all garments.
