What’s In Your Makeup Bag?

Is your makeup bag packed full of old eyeliners and lipsticks you don’t wear anymore? Let’s clean out our cosmetic cases together. I’m going to tell you everything you need to look and feel beautiful for winter 2009/2010.

The first step in redecorating your house is priming your walls. This is the first step in your makeup application as well. A primer fills in any large pore and fine lines while evening the texture of your skin, creating a flawless finish. This is the most important part of your makeup application because it leaves you with beautiful looking skin before or without a foundation.

Next you have to paint your walls or apply your foundation. Foundation trends change dramatically from season to season. For fall/winter 2009/2010 you want to find a light weight, sheer foundation. This product will even out your skin tone and do some light concealing. Next lightly dust a transparent loose powder across your entire face, creating a matte finish and setting your makeup. This trend is great for everyone and especially those who don’t wear foundations normally.

This season have fun with your eye makeup. Play with colors you don’t usually choose, anything bold will work this year. Experiment with your color combinations too. Mix greens, gold’s and blues to achieve a vibrant look for that Christmas party. If you’re more of a natural woman, stick with earth tones but be more dramatic with your liner. Try a new take on the cat eye. Rather the sweeping the tail up and out, keep it straight across the eye. Don’t forget to apply your favorite mascara.

If you’re a woman that loves her blush you’re going to enjoy the last months of 2009. First you have to contour your cheek bones. Choose a powder two shades darker than your skin tone. Find your cheek bone and apply your powder. This gives the illusion of a more defined bone structure. Next apply a rosy blush on the apples of your cheeks.

A lip color is the last product you’re going to pull from that not so stuffed makeup bag. Choose a deep color like wine, plum, berry or red. Try to pick a lip liner close to the natural color of your lip for a strong look. If you’re not used to wearing a bold lipstick color try something sheer. A sheer lipstick will provide you with enough color to participate in a trend without making you feel uncomfortable. Lastly always remember to apply your favorite lip moisturizer before any other lip product.

Don’t ever stop exploring with your makeup because at the end of the day it all washes off.
