Canada Day 2010

Award Winning Float!

Sarnia Weddings entered a float in the 2010 Canada Day Parade and took first place winning Best Industrial Commercial.
This was the first year that Sarnia Weddings participated.

The theme of the 2010 Canada Day Parade was "Canadians in Action".  Planning a Wedding was the theme of the Sarnia Wedding float.
(You'll agree there is certainly a lot of action planning a wedding!)  Our theme design included several "actions" that couples are involved with when planning a wedding.

Invitations
Bill Chong of Haines Printing provided the signage for the float.

Wedding Decor
Leslie and David Daamen of Just Imagine Decor and Design
provided the arch and draperies around the trailer.

Destination Weddings
Jo Kulik of Argo Adventures display added a bit of tropical
flavour with her destination wedding display.

Jewelry and Gifts
Diana Anderson of Diana's Creation added sparkle with her display of jewelry.  Diana creates "one of a kind" jewelry
for weddings, bridal party gifts or any occasion.

Bridal Showers
Melody Gibson our super Pampered Chef Lady was whipping up the crowd with her display of Pampered Chef products.

DJ/Music
Music on the float was provided by Boogie Nights Entertainment.  The crew from Boogie Nights had the crowd rocking
with their great sound and music selection!

Flowers
By me! (Pat Brethauer - certified floral designer)
Flowers by Sarnia Weddings provided the floral displays located throughout the float.

Special Thanks

Our soon to be married couple Melissa Wray and Carlisle Snider were our special guests of honour on the float.

Their presence rounded out our theme as the couple who are planning the wedding.  Congratulations and
all the best to Melissa and Carlisle on your Forthcoming Wedding on October 2, 2010.

More thanks to our helpers!

Three young ladies April and Luce DaCosta and Maggie Clark dressed up in holiday colours  and gave their time to help us decorate the float and ride on the float.

Special Mention to
Jennesa Jost who created our Canada Day Parade Cake.

Jennesa is a graduate of Lambton Colllege Culinary.

Thanks to my good friend Gerald Workman who provided the truck and trailer.  Gerald put in countless hours and with the help of David Daamen (Leslie's husband) the two men help us put it all together.  We couldn't have done it with these two guys!

Finally my thanks to my daughter April Brethauer, who came home from London to help us decorate and took photos before, during and after the parade! (April is a photography student at Fanshawe College)

My Thanks to all, we had a great day!
