Corinne
Schieman nee "Pickett" grew up in Point Edward and is
very proud of that fact. Today Corinne is living
in Corunna and has been married to Paul Schieman for 25
years. Together they have children 3 sons and a
daughter ages ranging today from 17 to 23.
While her children were young Corinne was a stay home
Mom before she entered into the business world 8 years
ago. Her love of art grew at an early age and continued
to grow giving her a solid background in the world of
art. "Artopia" started as a partnership but today
Corinne is the sole owner and is currently located at
276 Wellington Street. On January 1 Artopia will
have a new home "with more space" located downtown at
136 Christina Street.
The major
component of the business at Artopia is framing.
Corinne can frame anything! From prints to custom
work. She has framed for local artist including
photojournalist
Glenn Ogilvie
and for others such as as world renown photographer
Keiron Nelson who's work has been featured in the
National Geographic magazine.
Even though
framing is the major part of her business Corinne works
for corporate and with Interior Decorators. In her
store she also sells home decor art pieces, custom
pottery, jewelry and glass and much more. |
